Mark 5:23 – Part 2: Dealing with problems

I have had the devil rob other things from me, but nothing like this. Jairus is a man who I respect, and I truly look forward to meeting him in Glory. I admire this man. I have thought about him many times, especially when going through the hard spots. You see problems can be very inward looking, almost selfish. “No-one can understand how I feel…” is something often said – because we become very self focused in the hard spots. In fact, I am sure you will never find out what a man is truly like until you see him in a hard spot.

I compare the situation I am going through with Jairus’ situation. I have never found a perfect match yet! What I am going through is small compared to this. Then Jairus inspires me to reach out to Jesus, and get Him involved.

I don’t care what the problem is, but you can never go to God and phase Him with your problem. You will never catch Him off guard. You will never hear Him say, “You know Matt, I just don’t know what to do about this. I mean, I have questioned Jesus and the Holy Spirit – and they are just as stuck about this as I am. I have Michael and all the angels working on a solution, but they are getting nowhere. Splitting the Red Sea, that was a piece of cake compared to this. Raising the dead – I can do that, but sorting this out, well – I just don’t know. You’ll have to face this one on your own, sorry dude.”

Now that is ridiculous to your thinking because we are talking about God but I, and several of you reading this have almost thought along these lines at some point in our lives.

The 2 Characteristics of Problems
Problems have two distinct characteristics that I have drawn your attention to, and I summarise them again:

  1. When you have decided that enough is enough, and you begin to believe God for His way of escape, things could very possibly go worse! The devil will use those circumstances and try to rob your faith.
  2. Problems are inward looking and selfish – consequently, you begin to believe that your problem is unique, and no-one can sort it out.

If you can beat these two characteristics as Jairus did – the problem will be sorted out! Don’t let it defeat you, don’t let that rat of a devil steal from you any longer – go to God, and He is more than able to act on your behalf and fix it!

I have said it before, and I’ll be preaching this until Jesus returns because it is so powerful, it is a truth that God spoke to me in the midst of some trial that I was going through – a problem is nothing more than an opportunity to prove God faithful.
