Personality Tests

I have just taken a test to figure out my personality-type. This is something that we are doing at the company to help us understand how we work better.

Here are my results. You should have a go – the test is free at http://www.mypersonality.info/.

He’s given you the ability!

Pete sent me this – it was taken from the 22nd May reading from the UCB website:
‘God…gives you the ability to produce wealth…’ Deuteronomy 8:18
Without struggle, you’ll never develop your potential! Have you ever watched an ant carrying home a piece of bread that’s bigger than him? Success belongs to those too small to carry what they believe in but too stubborn to leave it behind! If God the Creator lives within you, then you are ‘creative’. That means when you can’t find a job, you can go out and create one.
If success doesn’t come after you, get up and go after it.
There are no risk-free plans. A young man once asked an old man, ‘What’s the secret of your success?’ ‘Good decisions,’ he replied. ‘How did you learn to make good decisions?’ the young man asked. ‘By making bad ones,’ the old man replied. Once you discover your gift and identify your dream, get on your mark, get set and go! Stop waiting for opportunity. Opportunity is the breath in your body and the strength of your mind. If you use your God-given gifts wisely, there’s no telling what you can do. But you must be a ‘doer’! God does not give us wealth; He gives us the power to get wealth. There’s a big difference. Too many of us sit down and wait for Him to drop everything into our lap.
A dream without corresponding action only aggravates the soul and amounts to nothing. God will give you the power to succeed but you have to take it, develop a plan and work at it. Okay?

Session 4: Support

Session 4 notes are now uploaded as a .PDF if you don’t already have them. The speakers for the night will hopefully include Matt Johnson and Ian Finch who run a successful partnership (Mando Group), Elli Johnson and Lou Finch who will be able to talk about business from the spouse’s point of View.

Chris Gibaud will be talking about accountability and governance and we also have Steve Connolly – a GP who is a partner in a medical practice that involves Non‐Christian partners. So he will share his insight into this area too.

Session 3 Podcasts now uploaded and on itunes

I have just uploaded the session 3 podcasts. In the first session – Andy Kent, founder of Angel Solutions, shares his story of how he started in business as well as some of the key principles that he has discovered along the way that have helped him go from a small 1 man operation in his house to an industry leading company with a large international client base.Andy talks about the ideas of acting quickly, building great teams, sales and marketing as well as a whole host of other points that we face as Christian business people. Also in this session, Paul Brown shares some thoughts on setting up and running a social enterprise business in Merseyside and the UK.
In the second session – we have our live link with Simon O’Shaughnessy in New Zealand (there were a few technical problems – but it was still fantastic!). Simon O’Shaughnessy, a life coach and business coach as well as a very successful businessman in his own right shares some ideas and wisdom in the area of Goal Setting. This session was recorded from the live link we had between the UK and Simon who now lives in New Zealand. For more information about Simon – see www.carista.co.nz
Also uploaded are the documents that Simon referred to in his talk (see the 5 levels chart and iceburg image)

Session 2: Purpose

Hopefully you have been reading the notes for session 2 and working your way through the questions?

On Thursday we have Nic Harding coming to share his insights and experience in purpose with us – so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask lots of questions about purpose and his experience in running Frontline.
Also speaking will be myself and Chris again. Please let me know if you can’t make it as it helps us prepare for chairs and note print outs. Thanks guys.
